Gary Eblen Diamond Brand Outfitters
Dan,
Thank you for a great program. I counted 39 non-Diamond Brand
folks. An excellent turnout especially considering the "threat" of
snow. Like one of our guest said to me last night, "I was expecting
more of a "how-to" talk on backpacking but it was more of an
inspirational nature. I really liked it a lot!" Well Dan, those
were my feelings too. I think your enthusiasm rubbed off on every
one who attended. It was really a wonderful presentation and when
you talked of the moonbow at Cumberland Falls, it brought back old
memories of family trips there 50 years ago. I like your connection
with history and I like your sense of humor. Please let me know if
there's a piece of gear you need help with as you get ready for this
walk.
Please email an invoice when you have the time so we can pay you for
your books.
Thanks,
Gary

Dan,
Wow! You really gave us much to think and dream about on
February 7. As I mentioned your message keeps getting better. Students, faculty,
staff and visitors all enjoyed your presentation. Great reviews on campus!
Dan I wish you well on your next endeavor on the Pacific Crest Trail. When you
return, please consider another presentation at SCC. We would like to have you
return and speak to a larger group in the near future; perhaps a faculty/staff
professional development day.
You have a gift with words, and you did a beautiful job in bringing your travels
to life for us. I am struggling to find the words to capture the terrific job
you did. Without question, you provided one of the more inspiring and meaningful
addresses I have heard here at SCC.
