Dan has backpacked over 8,000 miles and has completed hikes of the Appalachian Trail, The Long Trail, The Sheltowee Trace and The Natchez Trace. His 2001 - 2002 walk across America was featured on the Fine Living Channels Radical Sabbatical television program, American Airlines Magazine and several other publications. He has spoken to school groups, youth groups, college administration staffs, civic clubs, hiking clubs, churches and even federal prisoners. Dan's presentations are motivational and inspirational. Weaving stories about the people and places he has encountered, he talks of life and the 3 journeys that we all take. The physical, mental and spiritual journeys. He discusses how they relate not only to backpacking but to daily life as well. The presentation also focuses on the themes of we all make a difference, like it or not; we set our own limits (and how to set goals) and Live Your Dreams. When the opportunity arises the presentation will also include a look into Dan's teambuilding model GWTF. Developed while hiking the Appalachian Trail in 1999, and put into use in the corporate world thereafter, it is a refreshing look at how to engage everyone on your team towards a common goal.
